Commercial Medicines Unit (CMU) electronic Market Information Tool (eMIT) provides suppliers with access pertaining to the generic pharmaceutical products that are covered within framework agreements.
The information is provided by CMU as an aid to the understanding, maintenance and development of the pharmaceuticals markets that the Unit operates in.
The data that will be provided includes an estimate of NHS hospital-sector annual usage from English trusts for the product selected, the average (weighted arithmetic mean) price paid for that product over the last four months of the period and a measure of the variance of that average. Suppliers should exercises their judgement when assessing pricing information for products in volatile markets e.g. newly available products.
The estimates provided are derived from data collected via CMU’s PharmEx system (covering ca. 95% of the constituent NHS trusts) representing the 12 month period to end September 2011.
For further enquiries about this system or any products not currently included in CMU’s eMIT please send an enquiry via pharmaemit@cmu.nhs.uk.
